Two familiar music entertainers to Corning area residents, Marybeth Byrd and Cory Jackson were awarded the 2024 Female Vocalist of the Year and 2024 Male Vocalist of the Year during the 7th annual Arkansas Country Music Awards on Monday, June 3 at Reynolds Performance Hall on the campus of the University of Central Arkansas in Conway.
There’s a new business in town, Tribble’s Grooming & Boarding, owned by Lexi and Cayden Tribble. The dog grooming business is located behind Market 602 on 2nd Street in downtown Corning.
On May 28th, 2024 at approximately 6:00 P.M. the Clay County Sheriff’s Dept. executed a search warrant at 154 CR 472 west of Greenway. After conducting a search of the residence and property, the Sheriff’s Dept. took into custody 33 -year-old Joshua Ryan Dunham of Piggott. Mr. Dunham was transported to the Clay County Detention Center and booked in on the following charges: Possession of Meth OR Cocaine With Purpose To Deliver GT 10GM But LT 200GM, Simultaneous Possession Of Drugs And Firearms and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Local trapshooters, Bailey Catt, Wyatt Murray, Bryson Murray and Brady Russom competed in the 110th Mississippi State Trap Championships from Thursday, May 23 – Sunday, May 26, 2024 at the Capitol Gun Club in Jackson, Mississippi. Their marksmanship earned the following distinctions:
Lance Hewett graduated from the UA Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law during the commencement ceremony held on May 11, 2024. His post-graduate plans are to join the Law Offices of Katherine E. Blackmon. His area of practice is Family Law.
