March 4, 2014 Even those persons whose age adds up by scores cannot recall such a day as Sunday, March 2, 2014 when sleet fell for 12 hours in Corning. With several area churches believing the weatherman’s warning of late morning sleet and slick roads forcing them to cancel services, others bravely assembled only to dismiss before regular time.

The 3A Regional Junior High Quiz Bowl was held at Mountain View on February 3 with the Corning Jr. High Quiz Bowl team earing 3A Regional Runner- Up. Phillip Nipper was named All-Tournament for Regionals and Levi Vanderberg was selected All-Tournament for State.

Tuesday, February 27, 2024 9:12 a.m. - Caller advised a two vehicle accident with no injuries in front of McDonald’s.
On February 28, 2024 the Corning Police Department arrested 31-year-old Ethan Chavez of Corning for two counts of Rape §5--14-103 and one count of Incest §5-26-202. On February 29, 2024, Circuit Judge Scott Ellington found probably cause to charge Chavez in the above mentioned case. Bond was set at $150,000 and his next appointment in court will be March 25, 2024 in Corning.
