Supreme Court Justice raises awareness about judicial races

March 5, 2024 marks primary season to select party nominees for the general election in Nov. 2024. Arkansans may not realize that the general election for Arkansas judicial races is also March 5. Per the Constitution, judicial races are nonpartisan. Both Republican and Democratic ballots will have the judicial candidates running for election. Arkansans will make the deciding vote for the justices sitting on the Arkansas Supreme Court.

Lady Cats win home opener against Pocahontas; 49-44

The Corning Lady Bobcats opened their 2023-24 season on Nov. 7 with a win at home against the Lady Redskins of Pocahontas by a score of 49-44. Presley Martin #21 was lead scorer with eight 2-pointers and a free throw shot for a total of 17 points. Kenlie Watson #11 scored 14 points with three 3-point shots, a 2-pointer and going 3-4 at the charity stripe. Katie Karr #25 shot 11 points for the Lady Cats going 4-4 at the free throw line, two 2-pointers and a 3-point shot. Haleigh Cox #20 shot a 3-pointer while Avery Glasgow #5 and Olivia Compton #44 each added two points.

I had an experience back in ‘62 that could have well brought an abrupt end to my existence, but those mystical creatures in Norse mythology, the three sisters, The Norns, who are said to weave the fates of all living beings, gave me a hall pass.
