Bee keeper Rory Small not only produces his own honey from his bee farm in Paragould, he has caught so many bees this spring and summer he has had to build new beehive boxes. About three weeks ago he removed a hive at ASU that he said was a lot easier to remove than the one he removed this week at the Corning Lake.

Corning Mayor Greg Ahrent reminds residents that the city ordinance regarding fireworks prohibits the use of fireworks after 10 p.m. each evening through Monday, July 10, 2023. Fireworks are prohibited within the city limits after the July 10 deadline.
The public is invited to a retirement party for Police Chief Jimmy Leach on June 30th at 12 p.m. at the M.B. Ainley, Jr. Community Center. Leach has been with the Corning Police Department since November 1997. His last day in his position will be June 30, 2023.
Former students, educators and alumni of the Knobel School District are invited to attend the Knobel School Reunion on Saturday, July 1st at the M.B. Ainley, Jr. Community Center. The event begins at 10 a.m. with the opening ceremony and roll call beginning at 10:45 a.m. and concludes at 5 p.m. This is reunion for anyone who ever attended the Knobel school. The 84th annual St. Francis Picnic will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2023 on South Hickory Street in St. Francis. The picnic benefits the Hall and Gravel Hill Cemeteries. The picnic begins at 9:45 a.m. The lunchroom will be open and serving fried chicken starting at 11 a.m. The auction start time is 5:30 p.m. The Miss St. Francis pageant begins at 8 p.m. and at its conclusion drawings for cash and others prizes will begin. Names drawn must be present to win cash prizes.
