Brownie-Pirtle Cemetery addresses mowing season

The Brownie-Pirtle Cemetery Association met Monday evening, March 20 for the annual meeting. Judy Schimming stated, “On behalf of the Association, I want to thank those who have sent or dropped off donations this past year. They are greatly appreciated!” With the 2023 mowing season beginning the cemetery is in need of donations to help with expenses. Shirley Ann Culver

Shirley Ann Culver, 86 of Piggott, AR., passed away March 23, 2023 at home. Mrs. Culver was born September 22, 1936 in Black Rock, AR. She was a pastor’s wife and a devoted mother. She loved reading, singing, playing piano, cooking, serving her church and teaching God’s Word. She was of the Baptist faith. She married the love of her life Loy Culver on November 22, 1956.

Houston Nutt experiences Bobcat pride at Booster Club Banquet

If there’s one attribute that describes Corning residents and bonds the community, it is their pride and love for the Corning Bobcats. This was never more evident than the way the sponsors and volunteers came together for the annual fundraiser presented by the Corning Pride Booster Club. This year’s banquet was held on Saturday, March 25 with featured speaker, legendary coach, Houston Nutt. Nutt is currently a CBS Sports college football studio analyst.
