Reading is Important!

The month of March is dedicated to reading and sharing its benefits. It improves your focus, memory, empathy and communication skills. Reading stories help us understand who we are as well as help us connect to others with different perspectives. One study even suggests reading is the best way to reduce stress as compared to taking a walk or playing video games.

ClayCo Sheriff Dept. makes 2 drug arrests

On Thursday, February 23, 2023, at 4:50 p.m. the Clay County Sheriff’s Department arrested 56-year-old Danny Cobb of Success, and 53-year-old James Cobb of Success on felony warrants out of Butler County, MO. The Sheriff’s Department had received information they were at their mother’s house in Success, AR. The responding officer found at the time of the arrest felony drug paraphernalia on Danny Cobb. The Butler County warrants were for 2 warrants on Danny Cobb for Failure to Appear for Controlled Substance and Possession of a dangerous drug with intent to deliver. James Cobb was arrested for Possession of the controlled substance meth. Both subjects were transported to Greene County Sheriff’s Department waiting for extradition out of Butler County Sheriff’s Department Missouri.

Riceland new CEO introduced in Winter District Meeting

Rice production is ingrained in Arkansas farming and in line with that, the mission of Riceland Foods, a farmer owned cooperative, is to help farmers feed the world sustainably. It is honorable work and one that the new CEO of Riceland, Jason Brancel, takes seriously. He addressed the audience of local farmers at the M.B. Ainley, Jr. Community Center on Tuesday, Feb. 21 after a hearty luncheon of beef tips or chicken on a bed of rice, green beans, Au Gratin potatoes, rolls and an after meal palate cleanser of Rice Krispy treats.
