Celebrating 150 Years of the City of Corning & Clay County in 2023 Celebrating the completion of their new band stand, the Corning Military Band of the first decade of the Twentieth Century posed on the Court Square lawn while the afternoon gathering of local fans took over the stand and filled it to capacity. Sunday afternoon practice sessions and concerts helped pass away the dull Sunday afternoon hours.
After showing it off to everyone who would look, I got to thinking, what if that was grocery money for some older person? What if that means that some family would not have heat? Lordee, in just a short time I was so depressed, that I was beginning to wish I hadn’t even had the early morning good fortune to find the money.
I remember when art become my passion. I was 10 years old. My parents would always get the Sunday paper and I would always get Sunday Comic section out of the newspaper. I would draw pictures of Garfield and Snoopy from Peanuts during my free time. My passion for art continued throughout high school where I took 4 years of art classes. Later, during my college years, I took Fine Arts Visual and a semester of Graphic Design. Now days I find art a relaxing hobby to enjoy.

Family and Consumer Sciences Agents with the Cooperative Extension Service, part of the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture, helped meet this need by conducting professional development training online and in person for thousands of childcare providers in 2022.
