
Winners in inspired exhibition announced by Bradbury Art Museum
JONESBORO – Winners in the 2023 “Inspired” exhibition hosted by Bradbury Art Museum (BAM) at Arkansas State University have been announced. “Inspired 8” opened with a public reception Thursday, Jan. 19. “Inspired” is an annual, competitive exhibition offered to regional high school students. Best in Show: Sable Haggard, Corning High School Une Empreinte de Pouce Manquante (A Missing Thumb Print) Second Place: Vivian Morgan, Harrisburg High School Damage of Everyday Indecisiveness Third Place: Hayden Hobbs, Jonesboro High School I Can See You. A-State Art + Design Scholarship Award: Jegs Antonio, Valley View High School Stick Figures and Doodles BAM Merit Award: Kaysen Lomax, Valley View High School Blue Bruised Juror’s Merit Awards: Maggie Hogue, Harrisburg High School Deceivance Salem Meadows, Jonesboro High School Remembrance Kaylee Correa, Harrisburg High School Falling Ascension Julie Richmond, Harrisburg High School Who Am I…Myself Through this exhibition, participants are exposed to the work of contemporary artists as well as given an early glimpse into the process of exhibiting their own art in a professional setting. This year, students were inspired by “People/ Places/Things,” an exhibition exploring the concept of realism. The juror for “Inspired 8” was Stephanie H. Shih, a professional artist whose work was included within “People/Places/ Things.” BAM displayed the awards on tags next to the awarded works. Included in the exhibition are 50 works by students from 10 area schools.
