Early voting continues across Arkansas Early voting continues for one more week. Election Day is Tuesday, November 8—one week from tomorrow. If you haven’t voted, make sure you’ve got a plan to do so. And make sure your friends and family have a plan to vote. Budget hearings resume on Tuesday Lawmakers began their fourth week of pre-session budget hearings at 9:00 AM on Tuesday. That morning’s agenda included budget presentations from the Arkansas Supreme Court, auditor of state, prosecutor coordinator, treasurer of state, lieutenant governor, attorney general, office of the governor, and more, while the afternoon’s agenda was dedicated to the Department of Public Safety. Knobel holds first annual Halloween Fest

Many area communities held Halloween events over the weekend and on Halloween night and this year the mayor of Knobel, Tim Hobbs and local residents held the city’s first annual Halloween Fest on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 3 p.m. at the Knobel Community Center. The event was scheduled to be in the park but due to the rain it was moved indoors. Kids and parents alike had fun playing games, eating grilled hotdogs and collecting candy.

For No Shave November, Arkansas Prostate Cancer Foundation Raises Awareness to Support Men’s Health

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Heading into “No Shave November” (https:// arprostatecancer.org/ events/no-shave-november/), the Arkansas Prostate Cancer Foundation (APCF https://arprostatecancer. org/) is calling on men across the state to grow out their beards with pride in order to raise awareness around men’s health issues like prostate cancer. This year, APCF is partnering with firefighters, police departments, high schools, and influential men across Arkansas to help communities understand that one in every eight men in Arkansas will face a diagnosis of prostate cancer in their lives, but that the disease is nearly 100% survivable if detected early. That’s why APCF is asking the men of Arkansas to go 30 days without shaving for a good cause.

I find it hard to believe that it is already November. I’ve always heard that the older a person gets, the faster the time flies. Seems like only a few weeks ago we were trying to stay in the shade, were fighting mosquitoes and thinking about the 4th of July. The 4th of July is long gone, the sunshine feels good these days… but we are still fighting the mosquitoes.
