Bobcat Football

Last Friday night our Senior High season came to an end in the first round of the 3A state playoffs, losing to Camden Harmony Grove, 4914. The team traveled 4 hours to CHG on a charter bus, leaving Corning at 11:00 am and returning at 1:30 am. We want to thank the Corning administration for the support along with the Booster Club in making it a special event. Another thank you goes out to all of the students and faculty at Park Elementary that gave us a huge send off as we passed by the school. Our crowd at the game was tremendous even though the travel was so far away, and I know this helped the team ease into their normal routine.

RAMBLING VINES

Although there was a sort of oversight in reporting about the Community Christmas Tree last week, the project is still on “go” and everyone, young and old, seems pleased with the ideaofhavingacommunityinvolved activity during the Christmas season. The Courier stated that Zeta Beta sorority is sponsoring this community event, which is true, but not complete. The way I understand it, the Zeta Beta women first had the idea, then presented it to the other sororities and all of them are working as a group to present this Christmas project for the enjoyment of everyone. The sororities are enlisting, and getting help from a lot of people and everyone is anxiously awaiting the lighting ceremony on December 5. If anyone would like to help… by making decorations, giving a donation to help buy Santa’streats, orpresenting an entertainment at the tree, they should contact any member of any of the local sorority groups.
