
Clay Co. history book subject of October Chamber luncheon
The Clay County sesquicentennial book concerning the history of the county was the topic of the Oct. 10 Chamber of Commerce luncheon held at the Parkview Restaurant. Vice President Amanda Wiedeman presided over the meeting and introduced guest speaker Bruce Hall representing Acclaim Press, who discussed the forthcoming book about Clay County’s history celebrating the 150th Anniversary. The book is called “History & Families Clay County Arkansas”. Hall explained that the company publishes all types of books and has even published books concerning famous people. He told of how the late Beatle, George Harrison had a sister, and she published a book with Acclaim called, “My Kid Brother’s Band”. He added that Brooke Shields wrote the Forward in one of their books, as well as Jimmy Buffett.
