Tiny house zoning and code issues deferred to state inspectors

During the Oct. 10, city council meeting a discussion during the public comments concerning a small building or tiny dwelling off Main Street led to a public meeting called by the council on Thursday, Oct. 20. Corning resident Shelly Pugh came to the regular council meeting to discuss the structure that had been placed on property that is in the former location of the Main Street Pentecostal Church that has recently been demolished and located behind her home.

Larry E. Massey

Larry E Massey, 73, of Paragould, passed away Sunday, October, 23, 2022. He was born June 6, 1949, to the late James and Erlene Bauschlicher Massey. He graduated high school in Hobart, Indiana in 1967 and continued his education at ASU. Larry served for the Navy and Navy Reserve and spent his living serving others as a CPA. Larry is preceded in death by his parents and wife of 48 years, Sybil J. Bledsoe Massey.

Debra Bollinger

Debra Bollinger, 65, of Success passed away October 21, 2022 at home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Bollinger was born in Flint, MI., on April 20, 1957. She had worked for Mid-South Health Systems. She loved and spoiled her grandchildren, family and friends, she enjoyed horses, all kinds of other animals, flowers and cooking. She was affiliated with the Palatka Church of Christ.

OM collecting bottle caps and lids

Corning Odyssey of the Mind will be needing thousands of bottle caps and lids for an upcoming competition. The lids may be plastic or metal and are needed in all sizes and colors. Collection will be ongoing through the end of January, but students will begin using them as soon as November. Bottle caps and lids may be dropped off at Corning Middle School or contact Marcy Selig about additional ways to drop off.
