Our team of FCS (Family and Consumer Sciences) agents with from across the state has worked together to produce relevant and research- based podcasts to help young people access the facts they need to succeed.

BRTC Financial Aid Offers FAFSA Help

POCAHONTAS, AR — Every Wednesday, BRTC Financial Aid officers are available all day to help students and prospective students fill out their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. This federal form is used by colleges and universities across the U.S. to help connect students with federal financial aid including the Federal Pell Grant.

County agent receives achievement award

Allison Howell received the Achievement Award from the National Association of County Agriculture Agents during the 2022 Annual Meeting and Professional Improvement Conference in West Palm Beach, Florida on July 19. Allison was one of several honorees who represent the top one percent of the membership selected by their peers. The Achievement Award is awarded to Agents with less than 10 years of service in the Cooperative Extension Service who have exhibited excellence in the field of professional Extension. The National Association of County Agricultural Agents (NACAA) is a professional Extension organization geared toward Extension educators and other professionals who work in agriculture, horticulture, forestry and natural resources, 4-H youth development, community development, and related disciplines.

4-H Tech Changemakers to hold digital skills workshop

Rector 4-H Tech Changemakers are excited to announce a series of free workshops teaching digital skills to help people access important resources and learn the most in-demand digital skills. The workshop, Finding and Organizing Files and Responsible Internet Behavior will be held Sunday, October 2, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. at the Rector First United Methodist Church at the corner of Third and Main Streets in Rector.

$280 Million in ARPA Funding Approved to Address Statewide Water Needs

LITTLE ROCK, AR – Funding of $280 million was approved Sept. 16, 2022 to help address statewide water needs. The approved funding includes $270 million to address water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects and $10 million to assist areas in Eastern Arkansas with the transition from groundwater to surface water and help preserve the Sparta and Alluvial aquifers.
