Scorpions Midwest 9U are champions of the Sikeston Summer Slam with a tournament record of 4-1. The team is coached by Chris Smith, Jarred Green, Ben Foster, and Brandon Sisco. The players are from Corning and the Missouri towns of Neelyville, Poplar Bluff, Greenville, Doniphan and East Prairie. This is the second year in a row they’ve won the tournament on Father’s Day.

JONESBORO – Arkansas State University has announced the list of students who completed degree requirements to graduate at Spring Commencement, held May 7 in Centennial Bank Stadium. The list includes graduates from 44 states and 16 other countries.
Next Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at the final presentation of the Corning Public Library’s Summer Reading Program, The Kinders will perform. All ages are welcome to join in family fun and music with Brian and Terri Kinder. The program will be at the Park School Gym at 10:00 a.m.
After working at the Clay County Extension Office for 18 years, FCS agent Debbie Baker has retired. A surprise retirement celebration was held Wednesday, June 8 at the Piggott First Baptist Church.. A slideshow of Baker was shown while the attendees enjoyed the delicious meal provided. The venue was beautifully decorated as family, friends and co-workers, past and present, were on hand to congratulate her. Baker was presented with a beautiful engraved vase from the extension office.
