RAMBLING VINES

Different people from different regions have different ideas about what is history and what should be discarded. Clay Countians can’t seem to make up their mind...they will marvel at antique automobiles and farm machinery, spend mone they sometimes can’t afford for someone else’s old furniture, yet want every building showing signs of being old disposed of. I don’t understand it. I tend to agree with Bill Hancock of Knobel, who maintains that “anything can be renovated.” He backs his argument by telling folks to take a look at his store building in Knobel which is the old Sellmeyer building. It was in a sad, neglected state for a number of years, but with renovation has become a source of pride for the people of Knobel who are glad to have such a nice, big, brick building in their town. CHS Football program holds camp

The Corning High School Football program held a Youth Football Camp for all youth in grades 1-6 on June 14 - 17 at Bobcat Stadium. Mary, Mary

The most common female name in America is Mary. Thinking back over the years, there are dozens of friends, acquaintances, relatives and co-workers with that name. One thing I have noticed, however, is that most were not known simply as Mary. In most instances, they were called by their middle name as well.

Wright Family: Then and Now

In 1964 the children of Bill and Rita Wright of South Park Street in Corning had their photo taken enjoying watermelons. The photo was taken before their sibling, Paul was born. The Wright children are living in different locations now with Stanley being the only sibling living in Corning. The family got together to recreate the 1964 photo.

Lola Fay Holt

Lola Fay Holt, 59, of Beech Grove, AR., passed from this life on Monday, June 20, 2022 at home. Mrs. Holt was born July 12, 1962 in Paragould, AR. She worked hard in a factory for 17 years pri or to becoming disabled. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family, listening to the Bible, fishing, and sewing. She had served as a Sunday School teacher at Knobel Pentecostal Church, where she was also a member.
