Ervin-Hefner Reunion held

The Ervin-Hefner reunion was held May 29, 2022, at the Corning Community Center. Those attending were Margie Raney, Alice Williams, Louise Barksdale, Glen and Una Ervin, Matt and Freda Adams, Levi Adams, Clay and Lindsey Tanner, Cannon, Landry, Paisley and Levi Tanner, Kaclyn, all of Corning.

Owens family enjoys reunion

The Owens family held a reunion on May 28 at the home of Earl and Anne Owens Ladyman in Corning. There were 36 people in attendance enjoyed a potluck meal. Those attending traveled from as far as Oregon, Tennessee, Searcy, Poplar Bluff and Imboden. A great time was enjoyed by all.

Ladymans attend graduation

Earl and Anne Ladyman of Corning traveled to Fleming Island, Florida to attend the graduation of their granddaughter, Hannah Ladyman, on May 20, 2022. Hannah graduated from Fleming Island High School. She is the daughter of Paul and Melanie Ladyman. Hannah’s future plans are uncertain at this time.

CBC names June Artist of the Month

The Corning Beautification Committee is excited to announce Tripp Williams as the Artist of the Month for June. Nineyear-old Tripp currently holds the record as the youngest artist to be recognized for the honor. He recently won the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Educational Center’s coloring contest during Tourism Week at the Arkansas Welcome Center in Corning.

THE POWER OF PRAYER

Casey Redman, who is battling breast cancer and brain cancer lesions went for an MRI yesterday and is waiting on results. She will go for a PET Scan on Thursday, May 2. She asks for prayer warriors to pray on her behalf for good results that her cancer lesions are shrinking.

STATE CAPITOL WEEK IN REVIEW

LITTLE ROCK – Two new virtual statewide charter schools have been approved by the Arkansas Board of Education. The board’s action allows Founders Classical Academy to add as many as 500 slots for students in kindergarten through twelfth grade.
