Datto fireworks show ignites sky

The town of Datto lit up the Clay County sky with a brilliant fireworks display on the evening of Saturday, June 25. Spectators enjoyed an acoustic performance prior to the show by local band Black River Rising at 7 p.m. The pyrotechnics show which began at 9 p.m. was manned by Steven Peterson, Tyler Edington, Jacob Price and Rhett Eddington.

NEA Chosen finalist in championship

NEA Chosen, an 11U baseball team based out of Corning, is a finalist in the Arkansas State 11U Championship in Cabot, Arkansas. A Beginning and an End

This coming Monday, we will celebrate the birth of our nation. Two hundred forty- six years ago the greatest country in the world came into being. Sadly, the country we grew up in, honored and loved, is leaving us. I could write an entire page on my reasons for believing this, but why? Those who agree already know; those who don’t would not be convinced.

Hewlett Reunion held June 25

Six children of the late Sammie D. and Mildred Hewlett, along with their families, enjoyed a day of socializing, eating and picture taking at the annual Hewlett Reunion held Saturday, June 25, 2022 in Peach Orchard. There were 36 family members in attendance. The Hewlett children attending the reunion were: Pat Howe and husband Alvin, Vill Hewlett and wife Sharon, Sam Hewlett, Jim Hewlett and wife Beth, Kay Kepner and husband Phil, Scott Hewlett and wife Barb. Each sibling had their children and grandchildren in attendance. Everyone had a great time. Sammie D. and Mildred Hewlett were also parents of the Kenneth Hewlett, Betty Archer and Terry Hewlett, all deceased.
