
Park Elementary combines enchantment and wonder in hands-on learning on Disney Day
Park Elementary turned the kindergarten and first grade hallway into “The Most Magical Place on Earth” as they celebrated Disney Day on Thursday, May 5. Students entered a magical kingdom as all the classrooms were decorated in a different Disney movie theme and each teacher implemented an activity that correlated to that movie in their classroom. The kindergarten and first graders rotated through all seven of the classrooms throughout the day. The themes and activities in each room were: Ms. Hannah’s classroom had the theme of “Toy Story and their activity was making a spork craft. Ms Jessica’s room was “Finding Nemo” and students were involved in science activities, Mrs. Ladd’s classroom had a Mickey Mouse them and students made Mickey ears, Mrs. Burkheart’s room had the theme of Alice in Wonderland and everyone enjoyed a tea party, Ms. Karen’s class was Snow White and involved a craft, Ms. Williams’ class implemented the theme of “101 Dalmatians” and students made Dalmatian ears, and Mrs. VanNada’s room had the theme of “Tangled” with students creating wanted posters.
