Peach Orchard News

Hello everyone. It looks like we are heading in for warmer weather from here on out. No more frost worries for all of us gardeners. My garden is coming along nicely. My baby ducks and geese are growing. Chickens are producing seven eggs a day now. Everything is perky up around here in this warmer weather. I don’t particularly like all the stormy weather Spring brings, but I do enjoy all the rain.

Spring Commencement Scheduled for May 7 at Centennial Bank Stadium

JONESBORO — Arkansas State University will hold its 2022 Spring Commencement ceremony at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 7, in Centennial Bank Stadium. The event is open to the public and seating for family and friends will be first-come, firstchoice at the ceremony. Chancellor Kelly Damphousse will confer degrees upon graduates from seven colleges including Agriculture, Business, Education and Behavioral Science, Engineering and Computer Science, Liberal Arts and Communication, Nursing and Health Professions, and Sciences and Mathematics, along with University College. Graduates will receive doctoral, specialist, master, bachelor and associate degrees.

Honors College 2021-2022 Graduating Seniors to be Recognized

JONESBORO – The Honors College at Arkansas State University will host the 13th annual Honors Recognition Ceremony and Reception Friday, May 6, at 4 p.m. in the Cooper Alumni Center, 2600 Alumni Blvd. A group of 143 graduating Honors students will be recognized in the company of their parents, families, guests and university dignitaries. Graduation distinctions for each student are listed below. Graduating seniors Marti Jo Boren of Sherwood and Beau Belcher of Benton will make remarks on behalf of their Honors peers at the ceremony. In addition, the Honors Professor of the Year 2022 will be announced. Honors students nominate professors and vote to select the recipient. There are three distinctions in graduating from the Honors College -- Graduating in University Honors, Graduating in Honors, and earning the Honors Certificate. Graduating in University Honors Those designated ‘Graduating in University Honors’ have successfully defended an Honors senior thesis, completed a minimum of 24 credit hours in Honors coursework, and are graduating with a 3.50 or higher cumulative grade point average. This distinction is recognized on their diplomas and academic transcripts. These students also receive a gold Honors medallion and recognition certificate.
