Hello everyone. The second paving project has started here in Peach Orchard. Soon we will have all the streets in town paved. The railroad company has finished up the work on the railway they just need to pick up the old ties and trash now.

BRTC’s Smith discusses STARTSMART program at April Chamber luncheon

Jason Smith, Vice President of Student Affairs at Black River Technical College was the featured speaker at the April Chamber of Commerce luncheon at El Acapulco on Monday, April 11 at 11:30 a.m. Smith discussed the StartSmart program and scholarships available to students. He told the members that 86% of first-time students at BRTC receive financial aid. He shared that concurrent enrollment allows high school students to earn college and high school credit. The discount applies to courses taught by high school instructors on a high school campus.

Harry Harmon and Milo Black are preparing to open an ice cream parlor in the Barnes building on Second Street. We are authorized to announce that $25 will be paid by the citizens of Corning for evidence sufficient to convict anyone of illegal sale of liquor or intoxicating bitters, or the soliciting of orders for intoxicants, within the town of Corning.
