In Appreciation of our School Bus Drivers…

School bus drivers are essential to a school’s success. Whether it is battling road conditions, ensuring students get to and from school safely, or creating positive relationships with students and their families, bus drivers do it all! Bus drivers are the first and last members of our staff who see our students each day. They build relationships with students and provide them with guidance. They get up early every morning no matter the weather or challenges they face and are ready to serve our students and community. We are very fortunate to have a group of bus drivers who are kind, compassionate, and are dedicated to our students.

When I was a student-teacher, I had no idea how hard it can be to quiet a room of 30 students. I’ll never forget the first time my mentoring teacher let me teach the class for the first time. I was feeling confident and ready to finally show my teaching acumen. I mean, I did just go through two years of the teaching program in college, how hard could it be?

Job fair and career expo to return to BRTC

Several local economic development partners will co-host a regional job fair at Black River Technical College in Pocahontas on Thursday, May 19 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The NEA Intermodal, Randolph County Chamber of Commerce and Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce will co-host the event, which will give job seekers access to hundreds of available jobs in Northeast Arkansas.
