Bobcat football ready to begin within guidelines

Coach Treadway and the Corning Bobcats are ready for their first game of the 2020 season against Cave City in Bobcat Stadium on Friday night, Sept. 4. Prior to the game will be Senior Night at 6 p.m.

“We set our goals to win early and get back in the playoffs,” Treadway stated. “I have about 27 players, a couple flunked their physicals or we would have had thirty out for Sr. High. Jr High has about 25 players. Both teams have speed and look to be more aggressive on defense.” Treadway said they have emphasized that they cannot turn the ball over and win ballgames. The coach said, “Both groups are good kids and work hard. We are excited about both groups.” He continued, “The 7th grade is practicing during school hours and we have 11 players and they do not play until the week of the Piggott Jr. high game.” All 7th grade games start at 5:30 p.m. and are always played before each conference Jr High game.
